The Perfect College Dorm Towel

Do you remember when you left home to step into adulthood and your mom ushered you out with little bits of advice like telling you to eat healthy, keep your room clean, or do your laundry once a week? I might have done one or two of everything on her list, but a weekly round of laundry definitely wasn't one of them.
Every morning after our showers, my college roomie and I would hang our big, bulky, wet towels in our respective tiny walk-in closets on hooks so they could hang dry before their next use. Neither of our towels ever completely dried, so there was always that mildewy smell in our room. We didn't complain or think much of it, since everyone else seemed to live with the same musty smell too.
Fast forward 25 years, and my husband and I are thinking about how our firstborn will head to college in the near future. There are so many new things on the market for us to help make the transition easier for him.
Now, my son will NOT use a wet towel after a shower. Nope nope nope. He is grossed out by using a towel that isn't completely dry just like his mama! That’s one of my whys for creating Haseru towels.
Haseru towels are luxuriously large, 100% cotton, and breathable. After using a Haseru towel to dry off,  you can hang it on a hook or towel rod with the expectation that it will be dry by the next time you reach for it. They do not have loops that inhibit them from drying, so the chances that your towel will be dry by the time you reach for it are pretty high. It’s science, yo!
Speaking of science, let’s chat a bit about the science of towel use. Dr. Vij of Cleveland Clinic conducted studies that examine the risks of using a towel that has been damp and sitting for some time. “The longer the towel stays damp, the longer the yeasts, molds, and viruses remain alive and stay active,” explains Dr. Vij of the Cleveland Clinic (2023). He found that fungal infections like athlete’s foot and viral infections like warts can spread through the use of damp towels. He also said that the use of damp towels can contribute to eczema flare-ups. Good thing Haseru towels dry quickly to help keep you a little healthier!
Compact Quick Dry Luxurious Cotton Bath Towels
Not only can we promote good hygiene with Haseru, we can help our kiddo have what he needs too. Haseru is so compact that I can send my son off to college with 10 Haseru towels, because one standard towel volume is the same as four and a half Haseru towels. He can use a Haseru a couple of times before he switches to another clean Haseru.
A bonus for helping him do laundry regularly is that washing a Haseru towel is easier than washing a traditional bulky bath towel. Haseru requires less water to wash, less space in the washer, and it is quick to dry. You don't need to do a different load for your Haseru towels since lighter fabric dries quickly. So no more extra quarters to run that dryer a little longer to dry your towels!
Not only are Haseru towels lightweight, compact, and quick drying; they also have multiple uses. A Haseru towel can be a hair wrap, a sarong, a scarf, a throw to use for travel, and a great gift to share with friends since you can take so many along without compromising space. So, say goodbye to bulky, mildewy college dorm towel woes and “hello” to the world of Haseru!
